Here is what we learned about Maine
- Located the State and Capital (Augusta) on US Map
- Maine became the 23rd state on March 15, 1820
- State Berry wild blueberry
- State Bird: Black Capped Chickadee
- State Flower The white pine cone and tassel
- State Animal The moose
- We studied about Portland Head Light, Fort Williams Park, ME
Isn't it just beautiful?
- Maine is known for its world-famous Maine Lobster
Yummy!!
- We made Blue Berry Muffins
Simple Blueberry Muffins:
Ingredients:
6 C. All-purpose Flour
4 Tbsp. Baking Powder
1 1/2 tsp. Salt
1 C. Sugar
3 Eggs
1 c. Melted Shortening
2 C. Milk
2 C. Blueberries
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F.
2. Mix together dry ingredients and set aside.
3. Beat eggs and milk, then combine with dry ingredients. Add melted shortening and mix well.
4. Carefully fold rinsed Blueberries into batter.
5. Fill greased muffin tins 3/4 full and bake 20 minutes or until lightly golden on tops.
